USA Hockey To Stage Coaching Symposium, Try Hockey Events Alongside the NCAA Women's Frozen Four

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- USA Hockey will host a number of activities for coaches, as well as youth and adult players, alongside the upcoming NCAA Women’s Frozen Four.

A coaching symposium with a focus on girls' hockey is set for March 22-23 in New Haven, Conn., and coaches attending will receive USA Hockey Coaching Education certification one level higher than their current certification, up to Level 4. Participants must be registered members of USA Hockey for the 2013-14 season and must attend all sessions to receive credit.

In addition, USA Hockey will also conduct three on-ice events for girls' and women's players on March 23 at the Ingalls Rink in New Haven, Conn. At 10:30 a.m., a Try Hockey for Free event featuring U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team members Meghan Duggan and Michelle Picard will take place aimed at giving girls ages 4-9 the opportunity to try the sport without cost. That will be followed by an adult women's try hockey clinic for women age 18 and older at 11:45 a.m. The day will conclude with a clinic demonstrating USA Hockey’s American Development Model to 14U-19U girls' hockey players at 1 p.m.
